ITALIAN COURSES

INTENSIVE COURSES

A course may last from 1 to 24 weeks. Each course meets from Monday to Friday in the morning or in the afternoon. Any student who is not an “absolute beginner” must take a written and an oral test on the first day of school, in order to be placed in the most appropriate level. Each level has a 4-week program.

SEMI-INTENSIVE Courses

This course is intended for those who wish to learn Italian but also have more free time than on the Intensive Courses. Each course lasts 4 weeks with 4 lessons a day from Monday to Thursday, either in the morning or the afternoon.

COMBINED COURSES

In addition to the intensive course in the morning, individual lessons in the afternoon supply the student’s need to study Italian in its profound aspects, following his or her own rhythm.

YEARLY COURSE

The course, taught over 12 months, allows the beginner student to gradually learn the language and culture, until the student completely masters both the spoken and written language.

INDIVIDUAL COURSE

These courses are recommended for those who must learn Italian in a short time and who wish to study specific professional and/or cultural areas in depth. As follows we will draw a profile of our individual courses, which can be altered according to the student’s needs.

CILS

ne lesson a day, individual or in small groups, of preparation and exercises for the C.I.L.S. (“Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera”) exam. It can be organised and combined with any type of course chosen. In May and November ISTITUTO EUROPEO organises afternoon courses of 30 lessons / 4 weeks.

DITALS

ISTITUTO EUROPEO offers individual lessons for Italian teachers who want to prepare for the D.I.T.A.L.S. exams (Didattica dell’Italiano come Lingua Straniera).

INTEGRATIVE LANGUAGE COURSES

Conversation Courses

For all those who wish to have another opportunity to improve their fluency and to enrich their vocabulary.

Written Composition Courses

For all those who wish to improve their written Italian. Particular emphasis is put on orthography, on form and on style.

Creative Writing Course

This course is for students who would like to express themselves creatively in Italian, writing essays and short stories. The participants learn to play with the language. They are given guidance in using the language spontaneously with their imagination while respecting the language’s style.

PROFESSIONAL COURSES

Italian for Tourism

The course is designed for those who have contact with the tourism industry (hotels, travel agencies, restaurants, etc.) at any level.

Italian For Business And Commerce

This course is recommended for those who work in trade, import-export and business in general and for those who need a working knowledge of specific business terminologies.

The teacher provides a full historical background and general picture of Italian literature from its origins to today.”
HYSTORY OF ART
“Course A or Survey Course
The teacher provides a historical outline of the history and development in Italian art, in particular the Renaissance in Florence, using slides and trips to galleries and museums to complement the course.”

The course is intended to give an overview on the political, economic and social situation of the last decades in Italy.

ITALIAN THEATRE

The Italian theathre from the origins until Pirandello and contemporary authors

HYSTORY OF FLORENCE

The student is given the opportunity to acquire an overview of the history of Florence, from its origins to our times.
ITALIAN WINE COURSE
This course takes place at a cooking school located 10 minutes walking distance from the Institute. Both beginner and advanced students may take this course. All of the courses are offered (in English) once a week in the afternoon.

Regional Cooking Course
A taste of Italy – come and experience how the various regions of Italy each developed a unique taste for produce. Find out where and when some typical dishes were invented (lasagne, risotto alla milanese) and give them a try by cooking and then tasting the delicious outcome.
Italian Baking and pastry Course
How is Tuscan bread made? What is the difference between ‘Focaccia’ and ‘Schiacciata’? What are ‘biscotti’ in the Italian culture? Learn more about Italian regional desserts and their characteristics!
Food and Wine tours an visits in Florence
First-hand experience while on site! Each week you will have the opportunity to walk through the city center and taste special products and dishes that distinguish Tuscany from the rest of Italy.

SPECIAL COURSES

INTERIOR DESIGN

With the Interior Design course students will be able to learn the techniques and theoretical knowledge needed to realize interior projects, through the choice of appropriate products and materials of furniture closer to the customer’s demand.
